Vertical Lathe Introduction And Structural Features

Mar 30, 2018

Introduction

Vertical lathes are large-scale mechanical equipment used to machine large and heavy workpieces with large radial dimensions and relatively small axial dimensions. Such as all kinds of discs, rounds and sets of cylindrical workpiece surface, end surface, conical surface, cylindrical hole, cone hole and so on. Threading, spherical surfaces, profiling, milling and grinding can also be performed with the aid of additional equipment. Compared to horizontal lathes, workpieces are clamped on the clips of horizontal lathes. The spindle axis of the vertical lathe is a vertical layout. The table top is in the horizontal plane. Therefore, workpiece clamping and alignment are more convenient. This arrangement reduces the load on the spindle and the bearing, so the vertical lathe can maintain its working accuracy for a longer period of time.
