A double helical gear is a cylindrical gear with right-handed teeth on a certain part of the tooth width and left-handed teeth on another part of the tooth width. It is widely used in the transmission system of heavy machinery.
The main processing of the double helical gear include :
-Arranging the raw material, forging or casting , for the large size double helical gear , usually choose the casting material.
-After the forging , then will do the rough turning and the UT test , to make sure three are no internal defect in the double helical gear
-Then the double helical gear will be sent to the heat treatment , which can increse the product performance.
-After the heatment , the double helical will be sent back to our workshop to do the fine turning.
-Next step will be the tooth milling on our CNC gantry boring and milling machine, with our machine , we can process the non standard module , large module double helical gear ,and the double helical gear that without groove relief , currently can only be made on our CNC gantry boring and milling machine.
-After the tooth milling , will do the wire cutting for the keyways if any.
During each processing step , there will be inspection to make sure the product dimensions meets drawing requirements.
