The Application of Straight Bevel Gears
There are so many different types of gears that it is difficult to know the wide range of uses for each type. Read on to learn more about bevel gears and some of the applications they can be used for.
Bevel Gears

Bevel gears are conical gears designed to transfer motion between intersecting shafts. They are usually mounted on shafts 90 degrees apart, but can be designed at almost any Angle.
Straight Bevel Gears
Straight bevel gears are the most common and simplest type of bevel gears. As their name suggests, they have straight teeth, similar to spur gears, except that they are conical instead of cylindrical. They also have many characteristics of spur gears due to their similar tooth shape and tooth meshing.
