Thrust bearing installation skills

Thrust bearings include four-point angular contact ball bearings, double-row (single-row) angular contact ball bearings, two-way thrust tapered and cylindrical roller bearings. Recently, brake roller bearing thrust bearings have also been developed.

When four-point angular contact ball bearings and double (single) row angular contact ball bearings are used as thrust bearings, they are not allowed to bear the load in the radial direction. Therefore, the inner bore of the bearing seat corresponds to the part where these bearings are assembled, and its diameter must be larger than that of the bearing. The diameter is about 0.5 mm larger. Or the roller diameter is smaller than the bearing inner diameter by about 0.5 mm.

For four-point contact ball bearings, do not interchange the same type of separation ring during installation to prevent changing the axial clearance at the factory.

The septum circle of two-way thrust tapered roller or two-way thrust cylindrical roller bearing, the bearings of the same type must not be interchanged to prevent changing the axial clearance when leaving the factory.

The end face of the thrust bearing inner ring must be tightly installed and axially locked. To avoid relative rotation on the roll neck, which can cause wear and burn of the matching surface of the roll neck.

The axial force bearing of the brake roll is used for axial positioning through two-piece bearing housings and adjusts the axial clearance. When installing the bearing box, ensure that the inner and outer rings of the bearing are in close contact with the inner and outer rings of the main bearing. When fixing the bearing boxes on both sides in the axial direction of the frame, care should be taken to eliminate the axial movement of the bearing boxes in the direction of the shaft end during the process of introducing the bearing boxes on both sides into the frame.
