There are three kinds of heat transfer methods: radiation, convection and conduction. In the mold, the heat generated by the plastic brought into the mold is 95% of the heat absorbed by the mold through conduction, and about 5% is radiated into the air by radiation and convection. During processing, the temperature change is the most important influencing factor, and it has a great impact on the quality of the finished product, which indirectly affects the production efficiency.
The mold temperature control method is a liquid cooling mold flowing in a cooling pipe. Since water is relatively cheap, water is used as a primary coolant to cool the mold. Water can be guided to shorten the rapid cooling time. Colder molds are usually more effective because they allow faster production cycle times. However, this is not necessarily correct, because some materials are too cold and have the opposite effect.
Beryllium copper inserts are commonly used in molds to improve mold cooling
The mold can also quickly transfer the heat to the cooling water flowing through the beryllium copper material with good thermal conductivity through the part surrounded by plastic parts (such as the part surrounded by plastic parts) to achieve the cooling effect.
There are also plastics with high melting temperatures that require molds to be heated for injection. For example, resistance wire heating rods are embedded in the mold blank to heat the mold.
There are 2 types of liquid, water and oil used for mold cooling; usually three types are water, ice water and water plus antifreeze.
Conversely, when it is necessary to increase the mold temperature, hot water is used to heat the mold.
