Angular contact ball bearing types and application

Types

Angular contact ball bearings are: 7000C (∝ = 15 °), 7000AC (∝ = 25 °) and 7000B (∝ = 40 °). The lock of this kind of bearing is on the outer ring. Generally, the inner and outer rings cannot be separated, and can bear the combined load of radial and axial directions and the axial load of one direction. The ability to withstand axial loads is determined by the contact angle. The larger the contact angle, the higher the ability to withstand axial loads. This type of bearing can limit the axial displacement of the shaft or housing in one direction.

The contact ball bearing has a higher limit speed and can support both radial and axial loads, as well as pure axial loads. Its axial load capacity is determined by the contact angle and increases with the increase of the contact angle.Angular contact ball bearing

Single-row angular contact ball bearings

Single-row angular contact ball bearings can only bear axial load in one direction. When bearing radial loads, it will cause additional axial force, which must be applied to the corresponding reverse load. Therefore, these bearings are generally used in pairs. Double-row angular contact ball bearings can withstand large radial and axial two-way combined loads and moment loads, mainly radial loads. It can limit axial displacement of the shaft or housing in two directions, and the contact angle is 30 degrees.

Install angular contact ball bearings in pairs

Angular contact ball bearings installed in pairs can support radial and axial bidirectional combined loads, which are mainly radial loads, and can also withstand pure radial loads. The tandem configuration can only support axial load in one direction, and the other two configurations can support axial load in either direction. This type of bearing is generally submitted to the user by the manufacturer's optional combination. After installation, there is preload interference, and the ferrule and steel ball are in the axial preload state, thus improving the entire set of bearings as a single support stiffness and rotation Precision.

Back-to-back configuration, the rear code is DB (such as 70,000 / DB), the load line of the back-to-back paired bearings is separated from the bearing shaft. It can withstand the axial load in two directions, but the load in each direction can only be borne by one bearing. Back-to-back bearings provide relatively rigid bearing arrangements and can withstand overturning moments.

Face-to-face configuration, the rear code is DF (such as 70,000 / DF), and the load lines of the bearings matched face to face meet the bearing shaft. It can withstand the axial load in two directions, but the load in each direction can only be borne by one bearing. This configuration is not as rigid as back-to-back pairing, and it is not well suited to withstand overturning moments. The rigidity of this configuration and the ability to withstand overturning moments are not as good as those of the DB configuration, and the bearing can withstand axial loads in both directions;

In series configuration, the post code is DT (such as 70000 / DT). In series configuration, the load line is parallel, and the radial and axial loads are evenly shared by the bearings. However, bearing sets can only withstand axial loads acting in one direction. If the axial load acts in the opposite direction, or if there is a combined load, a third bearing adjusted relative to the paired bearings in series must be added. This configuration can also connect three or more bearings in series at the same support, but can only support axial loads in one direction. Generally, in order to balance and limit the axial displacement of the shaft, another bearing needs to be installed with a bearing capable of bearing the axial load in the other direction.

Load capacity (simplified)

The following is only for the bearing capacity of the paired bearings, and the basic load ratings and fatigue limit loads given in the product table are only applicable to a single bearing.

* Basic dynamic load rating for standard bearings in any configuration and SKF Explorer bearings in back-to-back or face-to-face configurations

C = 1, 62xC single bearing

* Basic dynamic load rating for SKF Explorer bearings in series configuration

C = 2xC single bearing

* Basic static load rating

Co = 2xCo single bearing

* Fatigue limit load

Pu = 2xPu single bearing

Structural deformation

The feature of double row angular contact ball bearing is that it can simultaneously bear the combined load of radial and axial loads, limiting the axial displacement of both sides of the shaft. Compared with two-way thrust ball bearings, this type of bearing has a higher limiting speed, a contact angle of 32 degrees, good rigidity, and can withstand large overturning moments. Double-row tapered roller bearings).

There are four types of structural deformation of double row angular contact ball bearings:

Type A: Standard design for bearings with an outer diameter less than or equal to 90mm. There are no ball gaps, so they can withstand equal axial load in both directions. The use of lightweight glass fiber reinforced nylon 66 cage, bearing temperature rise is small.

Type A: Standard design for bearings with an outer diameter greater than 90mm. There is a ball gap on one side, equipped with a z steel plate stamped cage or a brass solid cage.

Type E: It is a reinforced structure with a ball gap on one side, which can hold more steel balls, so the bearing capacity is higher.

Both sides have dust caps and seals on both sides. Double-row angular contact ball bearings with A and E design can be equipped with dust caps (non-contact) or seals (contact) on both sides. The inside of sealed bearings are filled with rust-proof lithium-based grease, and the operating temperature is generally between -30 degrees and 110 degrees. No relubrication is required during use and no heating is required before installation.

When installing double-row angular contact ball bearings, care should be taken. Although the bearings can withstand bidirectional axial loads, if there is a ball gap on one side, care should be taken not to let the main axial load pass through the groove side of the gap.
