Three disadvantages of traditional ball mills

Mar 15, 2018

The broad prospects of the ball mill market have brought unprecedented opportunities for ball mill companies. Undoubtedly, the next three to five years will be the pivotal period for mainstream ball mills to ensure their industry status and market share. New types of environmentally friendly energy-saving ball mills will come into being. Old-fashioned traditional ball mills will eventually be eliminated.

The defects of traditional ball mills mainly focus on:

First, the consumption of steel balls and linings is large, and the chemical corrosion of the slurry, especially in the wet grinding process, exacerbates the wear of the steel balls and linings.

Second, because the ball media crushed the material is a random cement mill, lack of selectivity, so the grinding product size is not uniform, and easy to crush, therefore, the traditional ball mill rarely open circuit, and often combined with the classifier to form a closed circuit Work to ensure that the product size meets the requirements.

Thirdly, the plane of motion of the medium in the mill is perpendicular to the Earth's gravitational field. The medium motion must overcome the gravitational force of the earth to do work, and therefore the grinding energy consumption is high.
