CNC Programmer: 5-Axis
The 5-axis CNC Programmer will develop CNC programs for production on the Matsuura Cublex 63. The position will report directly to the Machine Shop Foreman and the Machine Shop Lead, and will interact with engineers, machinists, and other production employees in order to develop efficient production processes. The 5-axis CNC Programmer is responsible for tooling and fixturing selection, toolpath development, and for creating setup sheets to offer clear instructions to machinists. The programmer is also responsible for working with the machinists to debug programs and correct problems that arise during production.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform all duties as assigned and adheres to Tri Tools Core Values.
Using CAD models and prints, develop CNC programs for a 5-axis Matsuura machining center with Autodesk Powermill.
Develop and maintain accurate and up to date tooling, fixturing, and toolpath libraries in the CAM software.
Edit posts as required to reflect the capabilities and kinematics of the machining center.
Ensure that programmed parts are running efficiently and to print. Work with the machinists as needed to correct quality issues.
Create and standardize setup sheets for the programmed parts.
Work closely with the Shop Foreman, Shop Lead, and machinists to design and/or order fixturing and tooling.
Develop probing routines for checking part dimensions on the machine.
Create macro routines and part programs for unsupervised machining.
Running simulation software to minimize scrap, and prevent damage to the machines and tooling.
Set-up and operate machining equipment, as needed.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma required
5 years of experience with programming 5-axis CNC mills and CNC lathes
5-10 years of experience setting up/operating 3, 4, and 5-axis CNC mills and CNC lathes
Experience with Matsuura Cublex machines is preferred
Experience with Autodesk Powermill or similar feature-based CAD/CAM software
Experience with CAMplete or similar verification software
Experience with Fanuc, Haas, and DMG Mori Celos controls
Knowledge of G-code programming, and the ability to edit by hand as needed
Experience with other programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Up-to-date practical knowledge of modern machining processes
Must have exceptional attention to detail, organizational, and planning skills
Ability to develop highly efficient processes from start to finish
Strong problem solving skills with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and through writing
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is primarily conducted in a semi-private office/cubicle setting but also may require off site field work. The noise level is mild in the office and moderate in the production areas. Duties will require interaction or work in a machine shop/warehouse atmosphere. The production environment may have a moderate to loud noise level and may require use of Personal Protective Equipment. The working environment requires use of machinery which consists of moving parts that can be un-safe
Interaction with other employees, as well as supervisors, and client personnel.

Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to wear safety equipment as required for personal protection. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
Must have adequate vision to use all related equipment and materials; to include depth perception.
Must be able to safely use office equipment, manufacturing/production equipment, and hand/power tools.
