1. Rotary kiln tyres require the use of alkaline open hearth steel or electric furnace steel, and converter steel should not be used. The castings shall be inspected according to the relevant provisions of GB979-67 and their inspection results shall be in accordance with the standard of 9-9-8 in GB10095.
Repair welding is allowed when the casting defect does not exceed the following range.
(1) Cut the part in the same section, the sum of the areas does not exceed 10% of the total area of the section
(2) Cut the part of the inner and outer rim sections, the total area and not exceeding 5% of the total area of the rim section
(3) Cut the part on the inner and outer round surfaces, the total area and not more than 2% of the total surface area
(4) The total cutting width along the axial direction on the inner and outer surfaces does not exceed 60 mm
(5) The depth of defects such as individual blisters and pores does not exceed 20% of the wall thickness
(6) The crack length does not exceed 50mm, the depth does not exceed 10mm, and the number is not more than 2
(7) The distance between the two defects must be greater than 100 mm.

5. After the repair of the defective part, the wheel must be heat treated as a whole, and after the heat treatment, the hardness of the part is slightly lower than the hardness of the parent metal on both sides, but the difference is not more than 10%.
6. The sand must be cleaned before the tyre is processed.
7. After the finishing of the tyre, the measured values of the inner and outer diameters should be stamped on the side of the inner rim with the stencil, and the white lead oil should be used as the outer frame mark.
8. No defects are allowed on the working surface after the finishing of the rotary kiln wheel
9. Rotary kiln tyres should not be placed upright for long-term storage to prevent deformation, and the surface should be protected from damage during lifting.
