Three ways to check the clearance of bearing bush
(1) Measure the inner diameter of the bearing bush separately * Install the bearing bush and tighten it to the specified torque) and the outer diameter of the journal. The difference between the two diameters is the bearing clearance.
(2) A copper piece with a width of about 10 mm and a length slightly smaller than the width of the bearing pad and having a thickness equivalent to that of a clearance that is not allowed to be repaired, is placed axially between the bearing pad and the journal, tightened with the specified torque, and then depressurized. Try turning the crankshaft (be careful not to apply excessive force so as not to damage the bearing). If it can turn, it means that the clearance is too large.
(3) Between the bearing shell and the journal, perpendicular to the axis direction, put a soft metal sheet or soft metal wire with an appropriate thickness, tighten the shoe cover with the specified torque, remove the soft metal sheet, and measure its thickness. That is the bearing gap.
