Concept of tooth profile 4

Let us return to the preceding routine's query.

According to our earlier research, the movement speed of the gear's contact point must always be the same at any tooth at any position in order for the teeth of the gear to mesh with each other and drive. That is, they must come into contact with each other on a rolling basis.

Gears

It is not enough to merely etch jagged lines on the outer border of the circular plate to fulfill this criterion. Gear meshing should also be addressed. Even if the gears have the same size (modulus), a tooth profile that can only travel in a straight line, such as a rectangle, trapezoid, or triangle, cannot mesh. It has to be of some sort. Curves with unusual shapes can do this.
