Real and tried-and-true technique for making spline shafts

Because of local tensions between the device's tongue or teeth, spline shafts are often composed of metallic material. The same is true for the fabrication of all types of gears. The most common metals used to create shafts are:

Aloy

Alloy steels contain iron and are composed of carbon, iron, and additional elements such as nickel and chromium. These alloys include high alloy steel, maraging steel, and other specific steel alloys. Aluminum alloy provides exceptional corrosion resistance while being substantially lighter in weight than steel in order to attain high toughness and strength.

Carbon steel

The spline shaft material has less carbon, making it more bendable under certain situations.

Stainless steel

This material is very corrosion resistant. It is an iron alloy with chromium and/or nickel additions.

All of these machines have CNC control, high-speed cutting capabilities, and minimal vibration, allowing them to produce superior gear and spline shafts.
